Interactive Stained Glass Window

Concept, Interactive

2011

This piece was Inspired by the famous ‘Bishops Eye’ in Lincoln Cathedral; the window has a fractured kaleidoscope like appearance due to the fact the tower collapsed in the 12th century. The broken pieces were re-assembled into a new design meaning that you can see original illustrations of people fragmented within it. The idea for the installation is for the user to be filmed, their face or body fragmented and then placed within a stained glass window design, which can then be projected over the top of ‘The Bishops Eye’ or other surfaces to create an interactive stained glass window. A project in collaboration with Louise Lawlor.
