Animated Alphabet

The concept of this piece was to create an alphabet where each letter had it’s own unique transition. I wanted to experiment with unpredictability in analogue technology and the glitches that often occurred whilst using it.
Created using an old VHS camera by using tracking, fast forward, rewind and pause to create random effects. Edited together using after effects to create words and organize the letters into a grid. Sound was added using a static sample which was edited and cut in Audacity to suit each letter.
